ok finally worked out how to get it all in english!
I arrived! copious amount of leg room on both budget planes, not so great food but hey ho!
as soon as I arrived I bumped into some english girls sam and colette who loked after me and let me tag along and learn the ways of backpacking! thank god for them else I would have probably been conned and robbed by now and on my way home!
They taught me to aim for 150b per night (sometimes optomistic being a lone traveller) and to ignore all the old ladies with funny hats trying to sell you all sorts of rubbish...take toilet roll everywhere and have a good stock of immodium!
My first night was with these two showing me round, drinking chang and avoiding the occasional rat running past our table at a street bar...nice little welcome to bangkok and kaosan road!
Got back to my room about 5.45 after pedicure and shopping, the strategy being if you cant beat em join as the noise was pretty loud everywhere you went so sleep seemed a stupid idea!
I spent for my day wandering up and down and braved a tuk tuk, i was dragged into it because i didnt realise he was a tuk tuk driver, i had been told of these people who just help you to be nice? but no he was telling me all places to go and offered to take me for 5b,turned out that was a  ''government tourist information and travel'' which the tuk tuk drivers say give you 40-50% discount but actually charge 10x more than everyone on kaosan, literally! Got a few massages as it was so cheap, shopped a little and got my bearings a little and then met with sam and colette in the eve to catch our bus to koh phangan!
